Shanti Hastkala is a non-profit organisation in Gujarat that creates real prospects for women from rural areas, some of whom come from very poor backgrounds. Here, dedicated volunteers teach the villagers tailoring or handicrafts, for example, and thus give them tools through which they can live out their unique talents and achieve financial independence. But it is not only the employees who benefit, because a part of the proceeds always flows into health promotion programmes, vocational training or the trainings of further women.
