Swami Ganapathi Saccidananda, who was born in 1942, is an avadhuta, i.e. a swami living outside the formal orders. He is revered by his devotees and followers as an incarnation of Lord Dattatreya and considers it his mission to re-interpret the eternal wisdom for the modern age and to show people practical ways to experience God. He recommends all three paths of Jnana, Karma and Bhakti Yoga as well as simple breathing and yoga exercises. For some years now, Shri Swamiji has also been visiting the West more frequently, giving Kriya Yoga courses and reviving the ancient Vedic fire ceremonies. Besides this, he loves to make music himself. To experience Swamiji and his musicians live in concert is something special. This concert gets its special touch from the fact that Swamiji and his ensemble play almost exclusively ragas, which are certain ancient tone sequences.
