Ashwagandha - Whitania somnifera - is an evergreen, bush-like plant 0.5-1.5 m tall with fleshy roots, simple, green, oval leaves and small, spherical, orange-red berries, whose root is used in Ayurvedic nutrition. The powder of the dried root, which is finely and gently ground (below 40°C) for this product, comes from Indian and Sri Lankan fair trade and organic projects of Cosmoveda.
