Note: Drinking alcohol is not fundamentally rejected in Ayurveda (Sanskrit = science of life) Science of life) does not reject alcohol in principle, but because of its medicinal and aphrodisiac properties. Ayurveda recommends, however, to do it very moderately and consciously, if possible within a sensual, ceremonial framework. For people who do not consume alcohol for dietary reasons: dropping it into hot tea in hot tea allows the alcohol to evaporate while the plant power is remains intact.
