- Utilization Chia in bread: Simply bake a bread of your choice with 10% chia seeds - it tastes wonderfully crispy and stays fresh for a long time. Traditional use: Chia seeds were originally used raw or heated in Mexican cuisine, e.g. as a tasty addition to a salad dressing with the seeds or chia gel. (Chia gel: 1 volume of chia seeds with 7 volumes of water, leave to soak for 20 minutes and stir several times.) Traditional drink - the pinole: This drink was mixed with fruit and vegetable juices and 2 tablespoons of chia seeds, left to soak for 10 minutes and stirred several times.
