The singing bowls used in this production come from the mountains of Tibet, where they were in use by the people for everyday and ritual purposes for many decades. They were handmade by the local masters with simple means and have an excellent sound. Twelve different metals - important in Buddhism - are used in their manufacture. After striking a bowl, you can literally feel the sound waves in the air. With this singing bowl music, vibrations and oscillations with their overtones come into their own particularly well, and you can hear how the different sound frequencies "rub against each other". Singing bowls are used for general relaxation and therapeutic bodywork.
