In Tibet, amethyst is considered a stone that was sacred to the Buddha - possibly due to its attributed ability to activate and balance the 6th chakra (the 3rd eye). Amethyst is said to calm impatience, eliminate chaos and bring forth clarity, as well as help one stay grounded.
