Sri Mrinalini Mata was personally chosen by Paramahansa Yogananda
and trained to continue the work of his organization after his death
Since 2011 she has been the president and spiritual director of
Head of the Self-Realization Fellowship/Yogoda Satsanga Society of
India. She was born in Kansas in 1931 and met her guru in 1945 in
Temple of the Self-Realization Fellowship in San Diego. Only a few months
Later, with her parents’ permission, she became a nun in the Order of the
Self-Realization Fellowship at Sri Yogananda's Ashram in Encinitas,
California. In the following years – until the guru’s passing in
In 1952, Paramahansaji personally prepared her for the task
to edit his writings and speeches after his death. They
has made six extensive trips to India to support the work of her
Gurus there and was Vice President of the SRF from 1966 to 2011.
She is also chief editor of all SRF publications.
