Most exercises with the stretch band simulate training on the reformer. The Reformer was developed by Joseph Pilates and can be found in every major Pilates® studio. Compared to floor exercises, strength endurance and muscle development can be improved much faster with the Reformer. The band achieves a comparable training effect. This is because the band provides resistance that requires your increased muscle strength to pull it apart and control the contraction. The use of the band is therefore particularly suitable if you want to strengthen or stretch a specific muscle area.
