Originally from physiotherapy, stretch bands are now also very popular for Pilates and other forms of exercise.
Stretch band information:
Most exercises with the stretch band simulate training on the reformer. The reformer was developed by Joseph Pilates and can be found in every major Pilates® studio. Compared to floor exercises, strength endurance and muscle development can be improved much faster with the Reformer. The band achieves a comparable training effect. This is because the band provides resistance that requires your increased muscle strength to pull it apart and control the contraction. The use of the band is therefore particularly suitable if you want to strengthen or stretch a specific muscle area.

Choice of volume:
In the beginning, use one that offers little resistance. If you find that the exercise becomes easier and easier over time, you can switch to a stronger band. You can tell what strength a band has by its colour:
